The Truth About Reselling Jordan 1 Mids
It’s time to look back and see if people were actually successful selling Mids.
Jordan 1s have been all the rage for a few years now. Specifically, Jordan 1 Highs have done well on the aftermarket because of a few different factors.
One of the driving forces behind the Jordan 1 High was Michael Jordan’s documentary but even before that, 1s were selling like hotcakes in the right colorways.
Due to this, many resellers also started trying to sell Jordan 1 Mids claiming that they would be the next Highs. Many people doubted these but when they saw certain Mids start to slightly rise in value, more resellers began to believe and put their money in Mids.
In all honesty, it makes a lot of sense. Mids are just a little shorter than Highs and were being released in colorways that were desired by many.
With almost a year passing since a lot of people have seriously started to put their money in Mids, it’s time to look back and see if people were actually successful selling them.
Mids that bricked
There were a lot of Jordan 1 Mids that ended up bricking, at least at the time of writing this story.
One of the main Mids that bricked were the black and white All-Star Mids. Many people swore by them and so a lot of resellers invested in them. At the time of writing this, sales are stagnant around $140. They never really took off in value.
The Jordan 1 Mid Signal Blue was another pair that bricked and is still bricking at the time of writing this. A lot of people swore by the blue patent leather on this sneaker but it never quite took off because a lot of people put their money in them and the demand is just not there.
I’m not saying both of these sneakers won’t be resellable eventually, but at the time of publishing this story, they aren’t profitable like people swore they’d be.
Mids appreciating in value
There are some Mids that are going up in value though. Don’t let the first half of this story fool you, not all Mids are bricking.
The black and red ‘Banned’ Jordan 1 Mids have been slowly but surely appreciating in value over the last few months. All sizes are slowly approaching that $200 mark, which is a nice profit considered they retailed at $115.
With the ‘Banned’ Mids it’s not as surprising that they are steadily going up in value. It’s an OG colorway that people really want on a High but can’t get, so what better to do than get it in a Mid?
Another Jordan 1 Mid rising in value is the black and blue ‘Hyper Royal’ Mids. Once again, it’s another OG colorway that people are really looking for in the Highs but just can’t find. So what do they do? Buy the Mids.
