Nike x Off-White™️ Dunk Low Exclusive Access Release Details
Nike announced on the SNKRS app that it will the newest Off-White collaboration with Virgil Abloh via Exclusive Access only.
In the past, pursuers of sneakers have seen Exclusive Access releases on the SNKRS app numerous times. The difference this time around is that the release is only through Exclusive Access. No normal Dan or Leo drop will take place this time around.
Additionally, Nike announced the release will take place starting Aug. 9 and continuing over a series of a few days afterward. Not only is an Exclusive Access-only sneaker unheard of up to this point, but a multi-day Exclusive Access-only sneaker is also really pushing the barriers for Nike at least.
So what does all of this mean for you? Keep reading to find out.
Better chances of success
Since there are numerous colorways of the Nike X Off-White™️ Dunk Lows, a multi-day Exclusive Access release might give users more chances of copping different colors.
It definitely will leave some sneaker botters on the wrong end of the stick because there won’t be an opportunity to set up a bot for a certain release time and date.
It seems like this style of release will be more of a free-for-all for people who get the Exclusive Access notification at random times throughout the week.
Keeping up with Yeezy Day
Many of us just took part in Yeezy Day last week and it seems like Nike took notes from Adidas.
The notes Nike took don’t exactly match up with Adidas’ Yeezy Day release style, but it’s apparent that Nike learned a few things a week after Adidas had users flying between the Adidas Confirmed app and Yeezy Supply.
Now, users of Nike’s SNKRS app will certainly be watching their phones all week for exclusive access to Off-White Dunk Lows that they may never get. It just seems a bit too close to Yeezy Day’s wild release to be a coincidence.
Experimenting with releases
One thing you can bet on for certain is that Nike is experimenting with its release styles in the hopes to benefit its users. In the past, hyped releases have been botted like crazy and most manual users have a very small chance of getting selected for sneakers they really want.
A few months ago, we saw Nike transition to have all over the drops as draws instead of FCFS. The company even admits it wants to make a change to the way it releases sneakers in an attempt to fairly get shoes in the hands of more people who want them.
“In order to provide the fairest possible access to Members, the Nike x Off-White™️ Dunk Low will be released via Exclusive Access in the SNKRS app,” said Nike in a written statement on the SNKRS app.
Whether or not more users will actually have a better chance of copping kicks they want with a week’s worth of Exclusive Access is yet to be determined.
