Is Pokemon Chilling Reign a Good Set to Invest In?
Pokemon has seen a recent rise and fall in demand and value over the last few months. It was at an all-time high at one point and cards/sets were selling for a lot of money.
Now that the hype surrounding Pokemon has died down a bit, investors are looking at what sets might be worth holding onto for the future. After all, even before the recent Pokemon hype, older sealed sets and cards were selling for good amounts of money on eBay.
You have to remember that it’s more than likely going to be a long-term hold if you want to invest your money into sealed sets or graded cards. It’s not going to be an instant flip like it was a year ago.
With that said, Chilling Reign is one of the most recent sets to be released and had a good level of hype behind it. Since Battle Styles performed so poorly, investors didn’t know what to expect from Chilling Reign.

Better sets to put your money in
While Chilling Reign isn’t a bad set to invest in, there are some better sets out there.
One of them is Shining Fates. Yes, this set was reprinted heavily but the pull rates are so high and offer the chance of a lot of great cards like a Shiny Charizard VMax.
Another one is Vivid Voltage. This set is a sleeper but has so many great pulls that people love. Prices for elite trainer boxes and booster boxes continue to fall for Vivid Voltage so it might be a good time to buy the dip.
The upcoming 25th anniversary set — Celebrations — is another great one to save your money for. It’s almost a guarantee that it will go up in value on the aftermarket over time.

Battle Styles. That’s it really.
Battle Styles wound up being a flop and it wasn’t a surprise to many people. There weren’t a lot of chase cards, pull rates were really low, and a lot of the art wasn’t amazing.
Yes, you can get Battle Styles for cheap right now but don’t expect it to increase in value at the same rate as the previous sets mentioned.
