Can You Still Resell Supreme?

The once highly-sought-after brand has died down

Storyset

Supreme was a highly sought-after skateboard clothing company that has seen its fair share of highs and lows over the last few decades. Most recently, Supreme was at an all-time high from 2010 to 2020.

Starting in 2020, it dipped in value because of a surplus in supply and demand staying the same. Nowadays, buying something from Supreme isn’t as difficult as it used to be, which leads to the question of whether or not it’s still valuable to resell.

On one hand, Supreme is well…Supreme. It’s comparable to the Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant of streetwear. But at the same time, unless you’re looking at a box logo hoodie or shirt, prices for Supreme attire on the aftermarket aren’t as healthy as they were a few years ago.

This leads to the question: Has reselling Supreme died down?

Let’s take a look.

Aftermarket prices are down

If you look at StockX or any other resell platform, you’ll probably notice that aftermarket prices for Supreme clothing aren’t performing that well.

It’s because the demand for Supreme has remained constant but there are so many releases and similar styles that supply has overtaken the market.

If you know anything about supply and demand, you already know that it’s one of the main driving forces in whether or not an item has value on the aftermarket.

The more Supreme continues to pump out item after item on their weekly spring and fall releases, the more you’ll see supply climb. If demand doesn’t spike, only the hypest of the hyped items will resell for any profit.

Recent collaborations are hit-or-miss

Supreme collaborates with companies like Nike for sneakers and different releases. The last few Nike sneaker collaborations have either been hit or miss.

The Nike x Supreme SB Dunk Lows that recently came out are selling on the aftermarket for around $1,000. Considering that their retail price was nowhere near that amount, it’s safe to say that was a great shoe to buy.

However, the Nike x Supreme SB Dunk Lows that came out a few years prior to that performed really poorly on the aftermarket and still don’t sell for much.

This is the problem you have when you’re reselling for Supreme. It’s hit-or-miss when determining what items which resell and which items might brick.

Do your research when reselling Supreme clothing in 2021.
