Botting Shopify Sites vs. Footsites

In the world of sneaker botting, two of the big types of retailers you’ll come across are Shopify websites and footsites. Yes, there are raffle bots and Nike SNKRS bots, but let’s save those for another day.

Today, it’s all about which is easier and more beneficial to bot, a Shopify site or a footsite.

Just as some brief background information, both types of sites use anti-bot protection. Shopify typically uses some kind of captcha service while footsites like Foot Locker are famously known for their Datadome antibot software.

They can both be equally annoying to botters and if you’ve ever been blocked by the Datadome or stuck in a queue then you know what I’m talking about. It sucks.

Besides getting better proxies and better bots, knowing which sites to target for certain drops can be beneficial in your botting experience.

Juiced IO members know just how difficult it can be to be a sneaker botter. The group offers exclusive resources that help its users navigate the world of sneaker botting to make money. If you’re not already a member of Juiced IO then you’re missing out on money you could be making on the sneaker market.

For example, Kith is a Shopify site that typically gets every hyped sneaker release. They also typically get large quantities of pairs for hyped sneaker releases compared to other Shopify sites. The drawback of Kith is that since it’s well known that they get hyped pairs and it’s a Shopify site, the queue to purchase anything is insanely long because every botter is targeting it. Most times, you’re better off targeting Foot Locker instead if that’s an option.

Also, many Shopify sites have specific return policies that aren’t as great as footsites. Meaning, if you buy a sneaker you’re on the fence about then you might not be able to return it.

The return policy for most footsites is pretty standard across the board and some people even report being able to return a pair of sneakers after 6 months as long as they kept their receipt. It’s definitely less risky to purchase a pair of sneakers on a footsite.

Compared to Shopify’s queue system, Datadome can be equally annoying. If you don’t have the right proxies, or bot, then you’ll be in for a rough day getting your proxies clipped left and right.

Datadome used to be a second-tier anti-bot system compared to Shopify. Now, it’s equally annoying and jams up both botters and manual users alike.

The bottom line is that both Datadome and Shopify sites can be equally annoying to botters but you have to choose the lesser of two evils for your specific scenario. If you have a bot that is great at Shopify and a Shopify site is getting a larger quantity of the sneakers you want, go for it.

At the end of the day, it’s all about allocation of your resources in the best way possible.
