2 Undervalued Sneakers Sitting on the Aftermarket Right Now

These sneakers won’t stay at the same price for long

During this time last year, we saw the sneaker market skyrocket into the moon.

Why did this happen?

  • Stimulus checks were being passed out like water
  • Michael Jordan’s documentary was released
  • Jordan 1 Highs and Nike Dunks were at the height of their popularity

It’s unlikely we’ll see a time like that again for a while. The sneaker market was on steroids and you didn’t have to do any research about which kicks might be valuable on the aftermarket because all kicks were.

We’re once again starting to see more shoes sit on shelves and remain stagnant on the sneaker aftermarket.

On top of that, we’re back to needing to put in a tad bit of market research to figure out which sneakers sitting on the aftermarket might be worth it in the long-term.

Recently, I’ve been really looking at two that have caught my attention. There are certain aspects of each of them that I personally look for in any sneaker I invest in. My plan for these two sneakers would be to buy a few pairs of each and hold them for at least a year. By then, I’ll reassess and see where their prices land

Disclaimer: By no means is this financial advice. These are just some sneakers that have caught my attention and should be looked at as hypothetical opinions.

Also, if you really want to get a second opinion on either of these sneakers, Juiced IO has channels specifically for both of them. These channels include resale price predictions from other resellers monitoring the market.

Nike Dunk High fragment design Beijing (2021)

I really don’t like the idea of investing in Dunks for the long-term. But what really attracted me to the Nike Dunk ‘Beijing’ design was the fact that this sneaker had only ever been released once before in the past.

The resell prices are hard to track because it was released so long ago, but the last sales of that sneaker sat around $1,000 mainly because it was almost impossible to find.

My prediction is that the 2021 version will be the same. We won’t see the Beijing colorway of Nike Dunks for at least another decade, maybe longer. It’s rare you can find any product that won’t be available for retail sale for at least a decade and that makes it valuable in my eyes.

On top of that, it’s a collab with fragment and even tho the Frag 3s didn’t take off like many people thought they would, this collab has more potential to do better on the aftermarket.

Why?

Well, the Jordan 3s would be sitting at a higher price on the aftermarket right now if everyone wasn’t afraid of the fact that they might buy a yellowing pair. For that reason alone, that sneaker might never really take off.

No worries about that with the Beijing Dunks. The fact that these are only sitting at about $200 on most aftermarket at the time of writing this is crazy.

If I do buy in, I’m aiming for bigger sizes, specifically a 12, 12.5, or 13.

Jordan 1 Retro High Electro Orange

This is another pair of slept-on sneakers.

I actually already wrote about why I believe it might be a great sleeper:

Basically, my main reasoning was that Jordan 1 Highs tend to always do well on the aftermarket in the long-term.

Actually, I recently read an article about how Jordan 1 Highs result in the best return on the aftermarket for sneakers in general besides shoes that are collaborations between Nike and other brands.

I’d link the article but now I can’t find it….Sorry!
